The Burnett School of Medicine is redefining medical education. Working with hundreds of local physicians and numerous partners, the school offers a truly innovative educational experience, tailored to how students learn best, capitalizing on teamwork and hands-on application, and always with a focus on the patient. The Class of 2028 is exceptional and diverse, with 60 students chosen from a pool of more than 6,000 applicants from across the United States.
“Our goal is to train these medical students as Empathetic Scholars® and help them become world-class physicians who will lead the profession in treating patients with compassion, empathy and respect, resulting in better outcomes and better overall community health.” - Founding Dean Dr. Stuart Flynn
The Burnett School of Medicine graduated its first class of physicians in 2023. Building upon 150 years of TCU history and achievement, the Burnett School is creating the physicians of tomorrow through compassionate practice. Our students participate in active team learning, applying their knowledge in clinical settings to serve patients alongside physician preceptors. Arnold Hall, the new medical education building in the Fort Worth Medical District, will center our students in a collaborative local medical community.
The Burnett School of Medicine’s focus on communication, a first-of-its-kind curriculum, and immersive and immediate clinical experiences all contribute to the development of Empathetic Scholars®, who graduate uniquely prepared to transform the level of care and caring experienced by patients.
