Tracy Reneé Williams is a dual-degree graduate of TCU's Bob Schieffer College of Communication, earning her B.S. in Communication Studies (2004) and M.S. in Communication and Human Relations (2008).
For more than 15 years, she's poured that education back into TCU, serving as president of the Black Alumni Alliance and, in 2020, becoming the first Black president of the TCU National Alumni Board. She now sits on the Schieffer College of Communication Board of Visitors and has extended that same commitment to service across Fort Worth, including chairing the board of Project M.I.C.A.H. and advising the National Juneteenth Museum.
Professionally, Tracy has held senior and C-suite leadership roles across nonprofit, tech and government organizations. She's now founder of TraComm Development Group and co-founder of Collective Consulting Partners, helping leaders and organizations shift culture through communication and clarity. She's also an official TEDx speaker, taking her frameworks from Fort Worth boardrooms to stages around the world.
Underneath the titles, Tracy is most proud of the environments she helps create, ones where diverse voices are valued and teams move forward together. At TCU, she has also created the Tracy Reneé Williams Legacy Scholarship, an annual expendable scholarship. As Tracy reflects on her own TCU journey and the support that helped shape it, she shares:
“I didn't get to TCU on my own. Scholarships covered what I couldn't, and long before and after I walked across that stage, people were pouring into me: as an undergrad, in grad school and later as I gave my time back in service to this TCU. Many people believed in me before I fully believed in myself, and this scholarship is me doing the same for the next generation of TCU alumni and leaders.”

The Founding Fathers wrote freedom of the press into the First Amendment of the Constitution. Winston Churchill said "a free press is the sleeping guardian of all other rights that free men prize; it is the most dangerous foe of tyranny." This highlights the importance of journalism and journalism education.
