Joan and Dr. Tom Rogers have been part of the TCU story for nearly 70 years, and their support for their alma mater has been steady every step of the way. Tom retired after a 58-year career as a primary care pediatrician, and Joan serves as a TCU Trustee Emeritus. Together, they've developed a special connection to the Anne Burnett Marion School of Medicine, creating an endowment for academic excellence in 2021 and later funding an endowed scholarship, hoping to inspire others to do the same.

"Supporting the Burnett School is pretty much a 'no-brainer' for us," the couple said. "Getting acquainted with many faculty members and staff and meeting some of the truly amazing students has only increased our eagerness to be involved."

Joan, who served 17 years in TCU's Office of Admission, values how competitive and life-changing a Burnett School education can be. Tom, who often shows physician colleagues around Arnold Hall, points to the school's emphasis on empathy as something the medical field needs more of today.

Joan and Tom challenge the TCU community to join them on Oct. 6-7 by supporting deserving students and helping build a pipeline of empathetic physicians who will transform healthcare.
