World Premiere of FOR THE LOVE OF UVALDE: THE OPERA

Highlighting the resilience of the Uvalde, Texas community, For the Love of Uvalde: The Opera is dedicated to remembering the nineteen students and two teachers who lost their lives in the Robb Elementary School shooting. Your gift will support costs related to mounting this heartfelt and moving commemorative production brought to life, in part, by TCU students, faculty and alumni.

For the Love of Uvalde: The Opera is inspired by true events and based on the original stage play For the Love of Uvalde (Yale Drama Series Short List) written by TCU Assistant Professor of Theatre Ayvaunn Penn. With the support of multiple TCU departments, including TCU School of Music, the show is scheduled to premiere in 2027, the year marking the anniversary of this historic event.

Your contribution also helps afford TCU students the rare opportunity to work on the world premiere of an opera composed by a living, internationally acclaimed composer. That composer is Dr. Kevin Day, a Classic FM Radio favorite who is a proud TCU School of Music graduate. This prestigious resume credit makes TCU students competitive players in the field of the performing arts even before they graduate.
